ABOUT THE AUTHOR

ME 2.jpg

When this marine ecologist isn’t yelling at Congressmen to save the whales, she spends her spare time writing. A chronic wanderer originally from New York (with a heart split between Iceland and the Scottish Highlands), Brianna enjoys long walks through the cemetery and short walks to fridges full of leftovers. She prides herself on embracing literary themes most might find squirm-worthy, and as a connoisseur of all horrors cosmic and comedic, Brianna hopes to break down the boundaries dividing the common man from the cathartic delight of fright. Her cat and parents are her biggest supporters. In that order.

Brianna received her Master of Science in Applied Marine and Fisheries Ecology at the University of Aberdeen. She is also an alumna of SUNY Maritime College's International Trade and Transportation program. Her writing has been featured in such publications as Aphotic Realm Magazine, Bull and Cross, Uncharted Magazine, and more. Her literary shorts have won 3rd  and 5th place in the Mainstream/Literary category for the 90th and 91st Annual Writer’s Digest Competition, respectively. She has received Honorable Mention in L. Ron Hubbard’s Writers of the Future Contest and was longlisted for The Masters Review's first Novel Excerpt Contest. Her debut novel from Bloodhound Books, The Monster and the Magpie, is set to release in April 2023.

Brianna's work is represented by Amanda Jain of BookEnds Literary Agency.
